April Fools Day went just swimmingly, didn't it? We spent the day with Bill, quietly enjoying our 21st birthdays and were absolutly alarmed to hear of what has happened at Hogwarts! We were astounded to find that there is some feeling that we might have been involved in the whole fiasco. How silly! We don't even attend Hogwarts. Why would we *ever* be involved? We do hope that you all manage to get this under control, but we can't imagine it'll last longer then a week. Good luck with that!

On another note, Weasleys' Wizarding Wheezes has just released a new line of products. Stop by the shop any time and check it out! Cheers!

To Whom It May Concern [21 Jun 2004|08:46am]
Hope everyone's doing well! We must say, we don't think things could possibly be going much better for us here.

Weasleys Wizarding Wheezes is proud to announce that Zonko's joke shop is now under the management of ones Fred and George Weasley. Ever since our fantastic foray onto the joke-shop scene, we have managed to become so successful, that we were finally able to buy out the competition.

Now, we know what you may be thinking: "But, Fred and George! You two are amazing enough without hammering the competition! Why make this drastic move?" And to this we say: "We know! But that's not the point of it!"

The point of it is simple. We now employ the Zonko's shopkeepers to man the front desks at both locations, while we are free to do more important things; namely inventing.

Unfortunately, through the past few months, we have been unable to create many new items. Now, with this new freedom from competition and ongoing feud, as well as having new people to take care of the menial tasks of upkeep, we are able to devote out time fully to the matters we enjoy most.

As to what products we plan on adding to the catalogue; that must remain a mystery for now. Rest assured though, that these newest wares will be available early next month.

Thank you for your ongoing support of our noble cause!

Bill came in last night, and we feel a bit bad about not having a proper room for him to stay in. Our couch is pretty much crap, and we know that no one could pay either of us enough to sleep on in ourselves. That being said, we do wish Bill the very best.

On a more buisness related note, it would seem that the 'family feud' with Zonko's has finally come to an end. This will be explained more in time. For now, just keep in mind the Weasley's Wizarding Wheezes is most definatly the joke shop of choice.

Hogsmeade has been a bit empty for the past few days. Maybe it's the weather, but whatever it is, it's been affecting business. Not in any horrible way, mind you, but it just makes things a bit dull. Fred thinks this would be a good time for a sneak attack on Zonko’s, and I can’t say I disagree.

Because of the boredom though, Fred and I recently stopped by Hogwarts and talk to our dear little brother. That was...informative, and as a bonus we were able to snatch quite a bit of good food from the kitchens on our way out. Passed Peeves in the hall as well, and he seems to be doing his best to carry on with our legacy.

Still hoping for an Owl from Ginny, as I can’t remember the last time we talked to her. If she’s anything like Ron though, we’ve managed to miss quite a lot of news. So if you read this, Ginny, send an owl. Or we’ll just be forced to come find you ourselves.

Business has been slow lately, due most likely to the fact that people seem to think Valentines Day isn't the proper time for little boys to be playing pranks. I *hear* that it doesn't go over very well with the ladies, but that hasn't necessarily been my experience...

Other then these last few days though, business has been going quite well. We're about to release a few new products, and will hopefully be expanding the store to make room for a very innovative testing area. What better way to decide if you want to buy something, then to see it in action? I can't think of anything. Besides, how fun will it be to have a room with slipping bombs all over the floor? We should really charge admission.

Lastly, if Ginny or Ron reads this, send an owl our way letting us know when it's convenient for you to receive a little visit. With this information we will decide exactly what times to avoid. Cheers! -Geroge

Well, as expected, Hogsmeade weekend was a great success. We were swamped with business all weekend long, and are pleased to announce that Zonko's is now officially running scared. Weather it was the smell of the swamp still surrounding their store, or simply our immense popularity/genius, we totally stomped the competition.

Now onto other matters. For reasons that will be revealed in due time, we have decided to finally take a little holiday to old Hogwarts. We will mention though, that we caught wind of a bit of disturbing news concerning our dear little brother and Harry Potter. They should both be expecting the joy of our conversation in the very near future.

In the meantime, don’t forget to send owls if you have any trouble making inquiries or purchase requests. Cheers!

Weasleys' Wizarding Wheezes in now officially open for business in Hogsmeade!

After a couple days of unpacking, and dodging the totally unfounded attacks from Zonko's, we finally opened officially yesterday. None too soon either, as apparently Hogwarts takes their weekend starting tomorrow. Look for us next to Honeydukes.

On the note of Zonko's though, they appear to like us less and less as the days go by...Collapse )

All in all, we’ve had very good business already, being open only a day. We’re sure though, that without the feud with Zonko’s, not nearly as many people would know we’re here. So maybe we do own them a bit of thanks. Not enough thanks though, of course, to remove the swamp.

After almost a week of trying to get all of our rubbish from one town to another, we finally have it. We're *actually* in Hogsmeade. Now comes the really terrible hassle though: setting up the store and our loft. We do assure though, that we will be set up and open for business by the weekend...there's no way we would deprive aspiring trouble makers the opportunity to purchase from the best.

In other news, it seems we may have already made an enemy of Zonko's. Now, what you have to understand here is that we *do* respect what they do (having purchased their wares all through school), but that respect does not exempt them from being civil members of society. The moment we hung our sign outside, a very feisty witch from Zonko's came storming over and demanded to know why she wasn't informed that another (better) joke shop was setting up in Hogsmeade. We, of course, were absolutely polite to her and offered our sincerest apologies. She left in a huff, and we decided the only solution was to extend a warm hello in return. Unfortunately, she didn't find the Slipping Bomb outside her store quite as friendly as we did.

Guess you just can't please everyone.

Products and Moving Information [13 May 2004|09:39am]
So, here we are at the dawn of the new era of Weasleys' Wizarding Wheezes. We've got all our rubbish ready to move to Hogsmeade, and really hope to get out of Diagon Alley by tomorrow. No sense in telling Mum we're coming. Can't imagine she'll be pleased, and we don't plan on giving her a heads up about it. She certainly doesn't need the extra time to be angry with us before she finds out naturally. It's a bit sad though, to leave Diagon Alley. It's been a place of great prosperity, and we'll miss it. So anyway, that's all we really need to say about that. Now to the good stuff.

We have put together an updated list of the products currently sold at Weasleys' Wizarding Wheezes, and are going to release it to you all early so that you can place advance orders. Enjoy, and remember that school is important, but entertainment and mischief are golden.

Please place advance orders here, and we'll be in town by the time you go on your next Hogsmeade weekend.

-Fred and George Weasley

*Please note that we still ship packages through Owl Post, but are hoping to switch soon to Stealth Post. As always, your orders will be as descrete as possible; after all, theres no use in mischief making if you get caught before you start.

Errol flew over with a letter yesterday…It was Mum letting us know that she’s worried and that she would still love us if the shop failed and we had to move into Hogwarts with them. We’ve had this shop open for almost two bloody years! I know she means well, but honestly. If she thinks that we don’t have what it takes then she can just quit taking the gifts and gold we send every month. After all, she should be thrilled that our phenomenal success has turned us into the family philanthropists. Why, just last week we donated a large sum of gold to the noble research of new and better ways to send a package through owl post without it’s contents being detected by the wrong sort of authority. My hat goes off to the lovely folks at Stealth Post.

On an up note, the formula for our new invisible ink is working famously. It’s a product I can’t believe we didn’t think of sooner. With our phenomenal respect towards the Marauders and their mischief making abilities, it’s a wonder we didn’t seek to build upon their genius before now. Where their map was revolutionary, you still had to remember to close it off to avoid its contents being read by those who were not meant to read it. Our ink, alternately, is meant to only be visible for the people meant to see it. After a number of very failed attempts where the ink burned thru the parchment, was invisible to everyone, and actually sent and entire scroll of parchment up in flames, we finally mastered it. I'm happy to say that as of next week, Anti Incriminating Ink will be available to the public.
